The roots of the MBCC Awards traces back to a tragic chapter in Zoe’s life, marked by the brutal torturous murder of her father in a bungled home invasion. In the face of unfathomable grief, Zoe found solace in the unwavering support of individuals like her local MP and a dedicated police officer, who helped secure justice for her father’s murder. It was this profound act of kindness and solidarity that ignited Zoe’s vision for the MBCC Awards. She realised that this awards should be for the people by the people and the vision was to allow others to celebrate their inspirational unsung heroes.

Founded by Zoe in 2015, the MBCC Awards emerged as a platform dedicated to shining a spotlight on unsung heroes – individuals whose quiet acts of compassion and dedication enrich both the business and broader community landscapes. Beyond accolades for oneself, the MBCC Awards became a stage for others to be recognised, valued, and celebrated on a national scale.

Since its inception, the MBCC Awards has blossomed into a prestigious event, firmly etched into the annual calendar, drawing over 800 attendees from far and wide. The evening is a symphony of celebration, featuring a red-carpet drinks reception, sumptuous dinner, and captivating entertainment.

It is also important to see people celebrated that are representational of those people that look like you and that is why it is important to celebrate everyone from all backgrounds and give everyone a chance to shine within a fair inclusive way and the MBCC Awards is the epitome of diversity, equity and inclusion and will always remain focused to also help support protected characteristics.
